Where is Morality and Where is it Not
We have recently heard about Satyam, the 3rd largest Indian offshoring company 'cooking' their books.
Now some people say that this is because of where the company is located.
I TOTALLY DISAGREE!!!!
Let's look at just a handful of companies that have done the same:
- World com
- Nortel (yep, Canadian)
- Satyam
- Madoff's Investment Vehicles
And I am VERY sure we can find more.
Can we blame capitalism? Not likely!! Capitalism does not encourage people to lie and cheat. Rather it encourages people to work hard and see the benefits of their labour. This does not mean to squeeze competitors out of the market place, this does not mean charging so much for products that $$ become concentrated in a few hands.
The $$ MUST go around, from hand to hand to hand.
Truth is part of this process. If we cannot achieve double digit growth then that is just the way it is. Maybe those companies that can no longer show profit (not double digit necessarily) NEED to be usurped by a new, innovative company.
Just some thoughts for today....
- Capitalism is NOT financial/corporate rapism
- EVERY country and EVERY human is capable of lying/cooking books/ promising and not delivering.
Think about it....think about what YOU want for a future world.
